The Premier League has hosted several of the world’s most productive goal-scoring footballers. The highest division in England has witnessed outstanding finishers ranging from homegrown talents with lifelong club commitments to globally renowned stars who left lasting impressions. A small group of players scored over a hundred goals for one Premier League club, and only one player surpassed two hundred goals in one team.

This article focuses on seven football players who hold the record for the highest number of goals scored at one Premier League club.

Here’s a quick look at the top seven:

    RankPlayerClubGoals
    7Frank LampardChelsea147
    6Alan ShearerNewcastle United148
    5Thierry HenryArsenal175
    4Mohamed SalahLiverpool176*
    3Wayne RooneyManchester United183
    2Sergio AgüeroManchester City184
    1Harry KaneTottenham Hotspur213

*Note: Mohamed Salah’s goal tally is as of February 7, 2025, and may increase as he continues his career.

    7. Frank Lampard (Chelsea) – 147 goals

As well as being an excellent midfielder, Frank Lampard was also an assist machine… and a goal scorer! With 147 goals in the Premier League alone, he became Chelsea’s best striker, and we’re not even talking about a striker from the heart.

One of Lampard’s greatest strengths was being in the right place at the right time. That place was usually on the edge of the box, where he scored several stunning goals.

    6. Alan Shearer (Newcastle United) – 148 goals

I grew up watching Alan Shearer scoring goals like it was the easiest thing to do in the world. The English striker was a danger to any opposing team, and in his time at Newcastle United, he became the Premier League’s all-time top scorer with 260 goals, scoring 148 goals for the club alone.

Before that, he had scored countless goals with Blackburn Rovers, where he achieved an incredible feat by winning the Premier League.

Shearer also went down in history as the first player to reach 100 Premier League goals, achieving this milestone in just 124 appearances-the fastest in league history.

    5. Thierry Henry (Arsenal) – 175 goals

Thierry Henry was one of the greatest overseas players ever to play in the English Premier League. For Arsenal, he wrote history, scoring 175 goals and becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer.

The legendary season of ‘The Invincibles’, which over twenty years ago gave the last championship to the London team in the 2003-2004 season, without conceding a single defeat, will go down in eternal memory.

Henry was recently overtaken by Salah, who now has one more goal in the Premier League than the Gaulish player.

    4. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) – 176 goals*

Mohamed Salah’s stats are impressive, to say the least, justifying the title he’s famously given as the greatest Premier League winger ever (sorry, Giggs.)

Since joining the club in 2017, Salah has had countless players alongside him in the attack, a bit like Messi at Barcelona, and the result has always been the same: goals, goals, and more goals, every season without exception. As a result of this enormous consistency and goalscoring vein, Salah has scored 176 Premier League goals for Liverpool in the Premier League.

The African player shows no signs of slowing down; on the contrary, he has already scored 21 goals this season!

    3. Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) – 183 goals

Wayne Rooney holds the record for the most goals scored for Manchester United in the premier league. He signed for the club in 2004 after shining at Everton, Rooney, then, spent 13 years at Old Trafford where he scored 183 goals in 393 Premier League games with the Red Devils.

Rooney won five Premier League titles and one Champions League during his time at Old Trafford. In all competitions, he remains Man United all-time top scorer with 253 goals.

    2. Sergio Agüero (Manchester City) – 184 goals

Sergio Agüero remains Manchester City’s all-time leading goalscorer, despite Haaland’s full-steam-ahead approach.

He was also the record holder for most Premier League goals for a single club until 2022, when he was overtaken by Harry Kane.

The Argentine striker, who retired in 2021, scored 184 goals in 275 Premier League games during his time at City between 2011 and 2021.

    1. Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) – 213 goals

At 19 years old, Harry Kane debuted in the Premier League and scored his first goal in a 5-1 win at Sunderland in 2014.

In 2022, by scoring against Wolves, Harry Kane beat Sergio Agüero’s Manchester City goal tally to set a new all-time record.

Before he left London to join Bayern Munich in 2023, Harry Kane set the record for most Premier League goals at one club by scoring 213 times.

He has maintained consistent performance by scoring an average of 20 Premier League goals each season.

*Note: Mohamed Salah’s goal tally is as of February 12, 2025, and may increase as he continues his career.
